I just sold an item on eBay and?

Just sold an item and the buyer lives really close (8-10min) away. I promised free shipping w tracking / insurance. However, considering he/she lives nearby, do you think it's a better idea to just drop off the package? It's good for both of us b/c he/she gets it fast and I save on shipping. I don't want to have to meet the person though, I was thinking of just dropping it by their door. A potential problem I see is that he/she might lie to eBay and say that they have not received the item, and I'll have no postal proof to back myself up. So does the benefit outweigh the risk?
