How is the measles vaccine even justified?

Measles is not mild in many people and just made one infant seriously ill and killed another in my area. The reason the rates are low is due to people being diligent in getting vaccines. As more people choose not to (oh, this disease is under control) we are seeing a resurgence in some life threatening conditions that had almost been eradicated. When we immunize, we not only protect ourselves but those with vulnerable health conditions that are susceptible to infections (cancer patients, etc.). When I choose to immunize, I am not only protecting my health, my babies health but your health as well!!
